Argentine Winemaker Expresses Discomfort Over Marcelo Tinelli's Filming in Her Hotel

Buenos Aires, December 24 (NA) – Winemaker Susana Balbo, one of the most prestigious figures in Argentine wine and owner of an exclusive boutique hotel in Mendoza, expressed her discomfort after the broadcast of scenes from Marcelo Tinelli's reality show filmed at her establishment. According to an interview seen by the Argentine News Agency, she felt surprised and annoyed by the way the place was portrayed in the series. Balbo stated that Tinelli is a regular at her hotel since its inauguration and that when the host proposed closing the complex for several days to film with his family, she accepted without objections. However, she assured that she was never informed about the focus the content would have: “They never told us what they were going to film or how they were going to show it,” she explained. The anger arose upon seeing the final result, as in the reality show, situations were shown in a humorous tone where supposed technological failures of the hotel were exaggerated and its gastronomic proposal was mocked. “They ridiculed something that is not real. They also made fun of a kitchen that is in the Michelin Guide and of a chef considered among the best in the country,” the businesswoman stated. Balbo was firm in setting her boundaries: “If Marcelo wanted to portray himself as a popular person, he shouldn't have come to my hotel.” Furthermore, she added that the impact was even greater considering it is an internationally broadcast production, which, in her opinion, was not good publicity for the establishment. As it became known, after the controversy, there was a private exchange between the two, and Tinelli would have communicated to apologize repeatedly, something the winemaker valued, although she made it clear that the situation had already left a “bitter pill to swallow.” Marcelo Tinelli and a new attempt to return to open television In parallel to this controversy, it also emerged in recent hours on the Lape Club Social program that Marcelo Tinelli has again sounded out his return to open television. It was not him directly, but one of his close associates who would have initiated informal conversations with a channel to evaluate the possibility of a new project. From the channel, they made it clear that prime time already has a “Plan A” and that, in the best case, a weekend alternative with much tighter costs could be considered. Finally, that main plan was closed and the conversation did not advance, but in the television environment, this episode is interpreted as a sign of the times, as television has changed, budgets have shrunk, and major figures no longer have a smooth path as before.
